If you are currently working or looking to join the industry but require the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to achieve the industry recognised qualifications then this course is for you. The successful completion of this course will enable you to join a recognised competent person scheme with suitable experience and hence be able to self-certify your jobs. Or working towards being a qualified supervisor.

Our fully qualified trainers will facilitate your learning journey to help you to understand how electricity works within these buildings. You will also learn the regulations that apply, how installations are erected, tested and certified.

Course Overview

Some areas you will cover include:

Part P training covers:

  • Basic principles, legislation, standards, design and specifications
  • Installation, addition and extension of lighting, power, circuits
  • Special locations
  • Notification and Competent Persons Schemes (CPS)
  • Installation and testing on Consumer units, earthing and bonding
  • Safe isolation and safe working practice
  • Inspection, testing and certification on different circuits

 Building Regulations in Dwellings covers:

  • Applicable regulations for safe working

Portable Appliance Testing covers:

  • practical inspection and testing on electrical equipment

18th Edition:

  • Familiarise the installer with the guide and demonstrates how to ensure good workmanship throughout installations

Fundamental Inspection & Testing:

  • Provides the skills to inspect, test and certify new and altered installation

Course Duration

This course is covered over a  period of 16 days during the weekends, there is also an option for evenings only.
